Course Overview:

POTS will be conduct 36 IWCF courses in a year. The course duration is five days. Course will be start on Monday & finishes on Friday. For first three days extensive class room teaching is followed by practical sessions on full size derrick floor simulator.

Assignment containing questions pertaining to day’s curriculum are given and discussion on assignment is taken up in the next morning.
On fourth day a mock test is conducted which is an in-house test based on IWCF pattern. This is to access the performance of the participants and prepare them for the final test. Individual attention is given to the participants based on the results of the Mock test.
The program consists of a Practical Assessment Exercise and Written Test papers on Equipment and Principles & Procedures for Drillers and Drilling Supervisors based on the IWCF Certification Standards. The Certification Standards are based on a detailed analysis of the well control knowledge that Drillers and Supervisors require, and the practical tasks that they have to master, in order to perform their jobs responsibly. The standards have been devised so that the measurement of their skills and knowledge can be assessed systematically. The method of assessing the performance of an individual, at both Driller and Supervisor levels, is divided into the following sections:
• A simulated practical exercise to assess practical skills.
• Written test papers on Equipment and Principles &Procedures to assess knowledge based skills.

The certification program comprise separate levels of tests for Drillers and supervisors in surface BOP stack operations. who should attend.

IWCF LEVEL 2 – Introduction to Drilling Well Control

The Introduction to Well Control course provides potential well control certificate candidates with an awareness of well control theory, practices and equipment using a combination of drilling simulator and classroom theory/exercises.
Candidates sit an IWCF Introduction to Well Control examination at the end of the course and must pass with a mark over 70% to achieve a certificate and progress to IWCF Drilling Well Control.

The Drilling Well Control course provides the knowledge and practical skills necessary to apply safe well control practices in surface and subsea installations. Participants complete the International Well Control Forum (IWCF) Drilling Well Control exam. The international accreditation is globally recognised as industry best practice.
